The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
The Innova Kat Mertsch 2023 Halo XCaliber is an overstable high speed distance driver. It's meant for players who are advanced in skill level and have a consistent throw of 300 feet. The stamp features a hooded female warrior in armor. She's clasping the sword in the stone and K and M in medieval script are on the outside.
The flight path of the XCaliber, often referred to as the XCal is overstable. It's meant for shots when you want to have something that glides forward but always has a strong hyzer finish. You can flex this disc around objects like trees and mandos, or you can throw it flat and hard knowing that it will fade at the end of the flight. If you're looking to compare this to another Innova disc, think of it as a longer Firebird. It has more dome and glide so it will stay airborne while it hyzers out.
Halo Star plastic from Innova is a premium blend. It's durable, a little more overstable than other plastics, and grippy. You'll see pros on the Disc Golf Pro Tour using this disc as well as amateurs on your local course. It's because Halo plastic works for everyone, no matter where you are.
The 2023 Kat Mertsch Halo XCal is a great overstable addition to your bag. You can crush it as hard as you want and know what it will do. It looks awesome, the stamp and Halo colors blend really well. And best of all it supports 2023 Jonesboro Open champion Kat Mertsch. You get an awesome disc and you get to support a fellow disc golfer at the same time. Snag one of these limited edition discs in 2023 while they're still available!
